Our CSR Commitments

At COCHIC, our commitments are not set in stone.
They evolve over time, shaped by experience and our desire to keep doing better, at our own scale, year after year.

We believe that a more responsible fashion industry is possible: more thoughtful, more sustainable, and above all, more human.

This page outlines the principles that guide our decisions, our concrete actions, and the way we move forward.

A Responsible Approach, Rooted in Our DNA

From the very beginning, we chose a different path.

Rather than producing more and more, we focus on creating better — prioritizing quality, durability, and respect for the people behind every product.

Our approach is inspired by slow fashion: accessories designed to last, to be worn over time, and to outlive fleeting trends.

Our flagship product, the collar extender, fully embodies this vision by extending the life of garments and encouraging more responsible consumption.

We know that responsibility is a journey, not a destination.
That is why we move forward progressively, realistically, and with concrete actions.

Our Values, Turned into Commitments

Comfort & Style

Our products are designed to be comfortable, functional, and elegant. Comfort is central to our vision: a well-designed accessory is one you enjoy wearing every day.

Diversity & Inclusion

COCHIC is a woman-founded and woman-led company. We are certified by WBE Canada and WEConnect International, which recognize businesses that are owned, managed, and controlled by women.

Beyond certifications, this commitment is reflected in our everyday choices. We favor partnerships with suppliers who share our values and strive to build working relationships based on respect, fairness, and transparency.

We believe in diversity, inclusion, and the freedom to be oneself. That is why we are committed to fostering open and respectful environments where every individual is heard, valued, and considered — regardless of identity, background, or origin.

Responsible Innovation

Innovation has been at the heart of COCHIC from the start, from our earliest creations to our patented collar extender system.

For us, innovating means constantly seeking more responsible solutions, without compromising on quality.

Quality over Quantity

We prioritize quality over volume. Every material and component is carefully selected to create timeless, durable, and long-lasting products.

Environmental Respect

Whenever possible, we favor natural, organic, and handmade materials, and we continuously seek to reduce our environmental impact at every stage.

Authenticity & Transparency

COCHIC is, above all, a human company. We make our decisions with honesty, transparency, and consistency — without claiming to be perfect, but with a constant desire to improve.

Ethical Production & Long-Term Relationships

Ethical production is central to how we work.

We collaborate with artisans and local partners with whom we build long-term relationships based on trust, respect, and recognition of craftsmanship.

Fair Wages & Equitable Conditions

Everyone involved in the production of our products receives fair compensation adapted to local realities and dignified working conditions.

While we do not yet hold a specific certification in this area, we carefully select partners who share our values and standards of human respect. Some of them are engaged in recognized certification processes such as OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, SA8000, GOTS, UPMADE, or Fairtrade, which serve as complementary indicators in our partner selection.

We take a progressive approach, continuously improving our practices with the ambition to strengthen this commitment over time.

Artisans, Families & Craftsmanship

We prioritize partnerships with human-scale, often family-run structures that preserve artisanal know-how rooted in their regions.

For example, we work with a local partner in Italy specializing in exceptional materials, including silk from the Como region. This family business has upheld its craftsmanship since 1945, respecting traditional techniques and material quality.

We also collaborate with a family of artisans in the Kashmir region of India, who handcraft pashminas and embroidered shawls using ancestral techniques passed down through generations.

These partnerships are built on trust and long-term collaboration, contributing to the recognition of artisanal trades and local communities.

Supporting Local Economies

70% of our products are assembled in Quebec

Producing locally also means ensuring that the value created remains within the regions involved and contributes to their economic development.

Today, approximately 70% of our products are assembled in Quebec, including our iconic collar extenders. Their assembly is carried out locally with Quebec-based partners and includes final production steps and quality control.

This percentage may evolve as our collections and production capacities grow, following a progressive and coherent approach aligned with the nature of our products.

This choice allows us to support local economies, highlight regional expertise, and favor shorter supply chains whenever possible.

A Progressive Ecological Transition

Our environmental commitment did not happen overnight. It is the result of years of research, testing, and collaboration.

We strive to improve at our own scale by identifying concrete, measurable levers for progress and advancing step by step. This approach is rooted in continuous improvement, where every year matters.

We are also committed to conveying the intangible value of each creation by highlighting its meaning, origin, and craftsmanship — beyond its simple function.

We are currently developing 100% compostable packaging solutions, starting with our upcycled collar extender collection, to reduce environmental impact down to the smallest details.

In 2025, we took part in the Parcours Transition écologique 2025 program led by the École des entrepreneurs du Québec, which helped us assess our impact and identify concrete areas for improvement.

Material Innovation & Upcycling

Innovation at COCHIC also takes shape through our choice and evolution of materials.

Responsible, Certified & Revalorized Materials

Whenever possible, we favor recycled, upcycled, or existing material streams.

Some of the materials used in our products are certified Global Recycled Standard (GRS), which guarantees recycled origin as well as social and environmental criteria throughout the supply chain. These materials are used in selected products, including our Bottiglia ties, made from 100% recycled polyester.

This approach is part of a broader reflection on upcycling and the revalorization of residual materials, particularly around our flagship product.

Concrete Progress Since 2024

Since 2024, all of our regular collar extenders contain 15% recycled resin, without compromising performance or durability.

Upcycled Collar Extenders from Residual Materials

We have developed upcycled collar extenders made from natural residual materials sourced from existing waste streams rather than virgin resources, including:

  • coconut fibers

  • recycled plastics

  • eggshells

  • straw and rice husks

  • coffee grounds

These solutions help reduce waste, limit resource extraction, and offer more responsible alternatives while maintaining high standards of quality and functionality.

Reducing Our Everyday Impact

Our commitments go beyond products and extend to our daily operations.

Concrete Actions in Our Daily Operations

COCHIC’s vehicle fleet is 100% electric, reducing the environmental impact of our professional travel.

We also prioritize local partners, particularly for printing needs, to limit transportation distances and support local economies.

Finally, we integrate circular economy principles into certain projects, such as our PLIIO product line, whose first versions were made from unused cardboard sourced from other companies — giving new life to existing materials instead of using new resources.

Certifications & Recognition

To structure, support, and assess our commitments, we rely on recognized certifications and programs aligned with our responsibility pillars:

  • Women-owned and women-led business
    WBE Canada, WEConnect International

  • Ecological transition
Parcours Transition écologique 2025 – École des entrepreneurs du Québec

  • Responsible materials
Global Recycled Standard (GRS), where applicable

We view these frameworks as tools for progress rather than an end goal. They help us move forward with rigor, structure our approach, and strengthen transparency.

In Conclusion

At COCHIC, commitment means moving forward with clarity, high standards, and humility.

We know that every choice matters and that responsibility is built over time. We will continue to improve our practices, support craftsmanship, innovate responsibly, and design products made to last — with the desire to do better, every year.
